SHOW
ME A MAN WITH A MILLION DOLLARS AND I'LL SHOW YOU A MAN WHO'S RICH
The young pharmacist was impressed
with the elderly gentleman who had been a regular customer in the pharmacy
for some time. It was obvious that he was rich and been successful. The
young pharmacist was interested in receiving some investment advice and
wanted to seek his counsel. One day in a casual conversation the young
pharmacist asked the rich old man how he made his money. The old guy looked
the young pharmacist straight in the eye and said, "Well, I'll tell
you son, it was 1932, the depth of the Great Depression. I was down to
my last nickel. I invested that nickel in an apple. I spent the entire
day polishing the apple and, at the end of the day, I sold it for ten
cents.
The next morning I invested those ten cents in two apples. I spent the
entire day polishing them and that night I sold them for 20 cents. I continued
this system for the rest of the month and I accumulated a fortune of $12.80.
Then my wife's great uncle died without a will and she inherited two million
dollars.
