Welcome to the Neighborhood! The NEIGHBORHOOD TAVERN is the latest incarnation of a local Effie business that has been around for many many years.... the present building was erected in 1954 as a municipal liquor store and lounge and city meeting hall and bomb shelter. It has been privately owned since 1985 and became the "NEIGHBORHOOD TAVERN" under its present ownership (Marshall Oelmann) in 1994. We endeavor to provide a tavern in the old time tradition of hospitality and usefulness and community spirit that dates back for centuries. Come and enjoy what we have to offer in moderation and with an open mind and please try to pay attention...after all, there's not much to see in our little town, but WHAT YOU HEAR MAKES UP FOR IT. | | |
