Decoy Carvers Competition set for Grand Rapids
Fish and Bird decoy carvers are invited to sharpen their talents and prepare for the forth-coming Grand Rapids, Minnesota carving competition. The competition is hosted by the Minnesota Fishing Federation and this is their third year of hosting the contest.
The Bill Green Fish Decoy Carving Invitational and the Casey Edwards Gunning Bird Invitational will be held March 28-30, 2003. Word is being sent out now so carvers have enough time to prepare for each and every class they wish to enter. Carvings must be registered in person. The competition is open to anyone who wishes to share their talent in this public venue.
Rules can be taken from the internet by searching for National Fish Decoy Association and hitting the side link to the 2003 contest rules. For those needing hard copy of the rules you may request them by leaving your name and address by phone at 1-218-327-1522 or request forms by mailing to Minnesota Fishing Federation, PO Box 450, Grand Rapids, MN 55744 Also ,at that same site will be a link to the Minnesota Fishing Federation's show last year with photos of the winners. Both of these competitions are nationally sanctioned by the NFDA.
